Fear grips the Black Sister as she lays upon her bed, tears streaming down her cheeks. She feels the eminent doom coming, the loss of the father who she loathed and loved and the pain of watching her son and brother, the First Born find joy in the new child he had adopted, only to have it all inevitably come to a violent end.

Startled, she rises up to find someone sitting in the open window sill of her room. He was staring at the full moon, the light illuminating his face. Her eyes widened as she realized that it was her little brother who had been cast out of the house of stone years ago. He began to share with her. She was his confidant and guardian when they were both much younger.

Now, he had returned home after learning of their father's untimely death. He confessed to her of his dark desire--to choke the lovers he took to his bed, robbing them of their life. Burdened, weeping and tired, he confided in the Black Sister, returning home so that he might help his family, and redeem his name.

This might be my favourite of Heilung. They've improved a bit on their later releases but their debut is still much meaner, and darker. Maria's amazing voice obviously steals the show but I also quite like Kai's too, especially on the live performance. In fact I'd say get LIFA over this IMO. The spoken word bits are really cool to hear proto-germanic in use but for relistening purposes they are going to be a bit obtrusive. Nevertheless the proper music here is on continual repeat for me.
